September 2025

Dear Southmoor Families,

As we begin this school year, we are filled with gratitude and excitement—especially as we celebrate 50 years of Southmoor in our community! The partnerships we have built over the years enable us to show up each day with enthusiasm, grace, and unwavering support for the success of not only your individual children but our school as a whole.

The smooth acclimation and adjustment of our students to school life this year is a true testament to our collective support system—the strong partnership between home and school. It is inspiring to see our students engage so quickly, embrace routines, and demonstrate eagerness to learn. We also celebrate the growing interest from our families in participating both in and out of classrooms, strengthening the bonds that help our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

While we experienced challenges with our air conditioning system, we were able to resolve the issue by the end of the week. We are deeply appreciative of the grace and understanding shown by our families, who contributed to problem-solving in classrooms where conditions were less than ideal. Thanks to this partnership, we maintained continuity of learning without any school closures.

As we focus fully on our students, we are reminded of our vision and mission: “Inspiring Potential, Empowering Learners.” This is more than words on paper—it is a commitment that we live every single day in our actions, our words, and the ways we impact the lives of every student. From classroom instruction to schoolwide support systems, every decision we make and every interaction we have is aimed at helping students discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential.

Our collective dedication ensures that each student feels seen, valued, and supported. Whether it’s through the collaboration of teachers, the care of our staff, or the engagement of families, we make our mission real every day, turning our vision into lived experiences that empower learners to thrive.

Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and energy as we embark on this school year. Together, we celebrate Southmoor’s rich history and embrace the opportunities ahead to inspire potential and empower learners in meaningful ways.
