Family Board Game Night
Wednesday, December 10th from 6-7:30pm: Come connect with Southmoor families and students while playing your favorite board game. Bring your own to share or choose one from our awesome collection. We will have games in the gym, library (quiet space of puzzles, checkers, chess, etc.), and cafeteria. AND, there will be snacks :) Please come with your student as this is NOT a drop-off event.

Come to our annual open house specific to ECE4 and Kindergarten grades. Meet our teachers, administration and PTO to learn about what makes Southmoor an amazing place to learn.
We will have Introductions, a Q&A with teachers, information about the choice process and we will finish up with a tour of the school.

Students can shop during their regular library time or after school.
Shopping Hours:
Monday: 9:30–10:00 AM (ECE Only)
Tuesday: 8:00 AM–2:55 PM
Wednesday & Thursday: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM

WHO: Calling all 4th & 5th Grade Families and Students
WHEN/WHERE: Thur. Nov. 6, 5:30-6:30pm, in the Southmoor Library
WHAT: School Choice is great and there are a lot of options, but it
can also be very overwhelming. This evening is a resource as you
prepare to make a middle school choice that’s best for your student!
You’ll hear about academic, social, emotional and logistic aspects of
the middle school experience.
--Meet leaders from a few DPS middle schools, including our
neighborhood boundary school Hamilton Middle School.
--Listen to a panel Q&A of Southmoor alumni students currently in a
variety of DPS middle schools
--Hear via Q&A from parents of Southmoor alumni students currently in
middle school
--Learn about the new, earlier DPS School Choice Round 1 Window: Dec.
2, 10am to Jan. 20, 4pm, and how to access School Choice middle school

Spirit Day Classroom Parties
Classroom Celebration: Classrooms may have a Fall celebration from 2:30 - 3:00 p.m. Teachers will begin to communicate with parents through classroom communications.
School Fall Parade: We will culminate the October Spirit Week with a parade at 1:30 p.m. Students may wear costumes for the parade, following the guidelines for appropriate costumes. The route for the parade will begin on Peach Street towards Southmoor Park, then make a U-turn back to school.

Wednesday, October 29, 2024 - Comfy Clothes for Fall: It is a perfect theme to celebrate the cozy and relaxing vibe of the season! On this day, students and staff can come to school in their most comfortable fall attire.
Thursday, October 30, 2024 - Favorite Character Day: It is a fun and creative celebration where students and staff dress up as their favorite characters from books, movies, TV shows, or history. It's a great way to combine the festive spirit of Halloween with a love of storytelling and learning.
